ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small school, in a small town, in the small, western part of my state. When I was five I wrote my first poem, entitled “Marbles”. It was, in fact, about marbles! From there, I fell in love with writing and never stopped. I went to school for it, eventually earning my Bachelor’s degree in English.

Otherwise? I’ve worked in the mental health field as a certified specialist and still work casual side gigs as a freelancer, as well as a tarot card and birth chart reader.

In the meantime, I’m a full-time copywriter for the Marketing Department at Westfield State University. I love to learn and am always studying something, reading, playing video games, or watching a lot of Netflix shows. I’m an avid figure skating fan and get way too worked up about whether jumping or artistry should be the main function of the sport. I’m big on family. Aside from that… what else is there?

Olivia Torres is a queer, ex-fundamentalist, biracial fangirl who hails from a small town in western Massachusetts where the potholes in the roads are so large they have now developed sentience. She received her Bachelor's in English from Westfield State University. Her work has appeared in journals such as the Merrimack Review, Talon Review, the Dandelion Review, and SWWIM, among others. In her spare time, she enjoys being roasted by her tarot cards, avoiding vegetables, and playing eye-tag with the moon.
